Alfred University is recipient of $160,644 in National Science Foundation (NSF) grant funding which will be used to support a training program focused on battery degradation and useful life prediction. The program will help provide engineering students with skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the battery and energy storage job market.

Alfred University students last month delivered a series of outstanding and well-received performances during the 2025 Lunar New Year celebrations in Buffalo, NY that showcased their talents in the dragon dance, the guzheng (a Chinese musical instrument), and other aspects of Chinese culture.

Alfred University’s glass engineering science program was well represented at the 2025 International Congress of Glass conference, held Jan. 20-24 in Kolkata, India. Current and emeriti faculty, a Ph.D. student, and an alumna were present for the conference.
